From the book, Walking with God, by John Eldredge "you might have heard the old saying," give someone a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach someone to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." The same holds true for life itself. If you give someone an answer, a rule, a principle, you help him solve one problem. But if you teach him to walk with God, well then, you've helped him solve the rest of his life. You've helped him tap into an inexhaustible source of guidance, comfort, and protection." So, whatever our job is today or situation in life- firefighter, teacher, mom, dad,,butcher- our deepest and most pressing need is to learn to walk with God. To hear his voice. To follow him intimately. It brings us to the source of life. I am learning this. I am grasping the tools necessary to breathe this daily and live this out at home and at school. It is hard. Jeremiah 31:3-4 says " I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving- kindness. I will build you up again, and you will be rebuilt......and go out to dance with the joyful." In process.....learning....pondering....trying to change. God's got a great hold on me though.....and a great plan. Excited to continue to see what that is.

All things motherish....

I am proud to be a mom of this little man.  He brings me so much joy.  These are some of his little friends that he will be with at St. Peter's til 5th grade.  We are so excited about this move for him, as is he!

This is Luke, that is Lucas.  They love each other.  Mommies love to see such joy.
My little guy performing.  He already loves the stage.
A toddler sleep over at the Creative Discovery Museum.  (not really, but that is what this mommy was observing)
 Sweet Annie.

Annie's older sis Louise.  Luke is right in the middle as far as age and loves them both.  Not a bad place to be in.

This is the sweet card Luke made me.  He writes his L's and U's like a champ, is working on the E's and has no desire to learn K's. AND drew me a heart which apparently he practiced lots.
I am happy to announce that I am happy with my body image but even if I wasn't, Luke doesn't care because this picture he cut out of a magazine himself and told his teacher that his mommy was pretty.  Melt my heart.  I love that he finally knows that I am a teacher......It's taken so long due to the fact that firefighters are way cool at this point.
 Being silly on Mother's day.
Bouquet that Tim sent me to school on Monday.  Yes, on Monday we celebrated Mother's Day and it was awesome.  Way better than the Sunday Mother's Day.  For lots of reasons.  The smell is currently making my eyes water and my head hurt, so I am not exactly sure how long they will last.  I love them.
Luke and I doing yoga at home.  I thought these were funny.

We ended the day celebrating our sweet friend paramedic who finally got cleared to go back to work after surgery.  We paid her a visit and made her mother's day cards too.

Being a mom is really hard at times but I am so thankful each day.  I really am.  Luke is beyond tender hearted and I love that about him.  I love reading to him for hours and making worm farms and letters.  He is a delight.

My Luke B

Luke makes us laugh.  His whole name is Ansel Luke Bryant, which means "God's protection" and "giver of light".  I really find these to be true of him.  He is so strong willed one minute, but so tender the next.  I am proud to be his mommy.  Proud to teach him things daily.  We went to Coolidge Park again yesterday (free, and who doesn't love to play in the fountains when it is hot outside?) and he loves it.  So fun to watch him grow.

This picture cracks me up.  He was walking and then all of the sudden he said, "Hey!  My ice is singing the ABC's!" as it was jiggling around in his cup.  An out of the box thinker?  Maybe!
