A new chapter, an old chapter...

This month has held a lot of upcoming changes for our family.  I am so thankful for the opportunity of where I have been for the past 5 years and where we will be for the next 5.  So, here has what has taken place.....

For Tim:  Tim went from Main St. Station 1 to station 19 in Hixson and loves it.

Luke has gone from Normal park- "Park Place" daycare to Northside Learning Center (starting later in the summer)
and then for me.  I have had the opportunity to work at Normal Park in 2nd grade the past five years.  I am a much better teacher because of this place.  I have worked with the most incredible moms I have ever met in my life.  All are hard workers and put their heart and soul into that place.  All stimulate creativity and want the best for the students.  It has been an honor.  But, it is time to do something different.  Time to move on.  Time for other adventures, challenges, people and location.  This excites my soul too.  I LOVE change and need it.  I love meeting new people and learning new things.  So, I am very excited about going to St. Peter's Episcopal School in the fall.  My soul is so happy, my body is already resting, and there is an inner peace in my heart.  I know I am to teach there and to learn there.  i am richly blessed by experiences that I have had, both in the old chapter, and in this new one to come.

Let the learning begin!!!  (But first, Luke and I will be at Stuart Heights pool if you ever want to find us. My home away from home!)

ME:

I don't think I have been this happy in a long time.  I am so excited to go to the pool with my boys!

(This was the best one to capture my excitement.  I really don't think I could draw an accurate picture at the moment......)

Cheers to Quotebooks!

So, today was my last day with my 9 sweet girls in my quotebook academy.  It has been my favorite hour of the month every month all year long!

Here are some of the fun quotes that we worked on today:

2 things

1. Luke and I were reading a book this week and I would point to the page and he would say what it was.  I turned the page and he said in a very excited voice......"Oh! Dat's a Feeeeeeyyyyyyiiiiiisssssshhhhhh!"  in a very southern Chattanooga accent.  (in modern english:a fish!)  Oh dear!

2.  Tonight Tim and Luke were on the floor playing cars.  Tim held up a car and asked if it was a race car.  Luke replies, very matter of factly, "No Daddy, that's a yellow porshe!"  ( I am not sure even to this day that I would be able to pick out a porshe! Oh boys!)

Daddy's "Tire Trucks"

So, in our house, hearing the siren come down the street is one of the favorite parts of the day.  We quickly run up to the window and watch station 12 come down the street and pass our house.  A typical day if Tim is working is to go and visit him at the fire station.  So here is what Luke experiences:
He hops up on the squad (his favorite fire truck).....names all of the other fire trucks that he sees, and then starts "fixing" the fire trucks......

And...checking all of the hoses.....

And climbing on all of the dalmation dogs in the grass out in front....

And of course laughing and having fun with dad!  ( I don't know how to turn the pictures yet..sorry.)  "WEEEEEEEOOOOOHHHHH   WWWEEEEEEOOOOHHHHH!"

Cheers to being a fireman today!
